NEWS: Attorney General Supports Reinstating Gun Ban

Attorney General Eric Holder is citing the Mexican drug cartel as a reason to reinstate the 1994 nationwide assault weapons ban.
The guns banned over a decade ago were based on nothing more than what Sen. Dianne Feinstein determined to “look dangerous and most militaristic,” according to commentary by the NRA’s Wayne LaPierre.
With only one gun store in Mexico that caters to citizens with a permit, the U.S. is taking the blame for drug cartels’ gun and ammunition acquisition.
"It is necessary to reduce the sale of weapons, particularly of high-power weapons, in the United States," Mexican President Felipe Calderón said in Britain on Monday.
Under an Obama administration a reduction of Second Amendment rights may be a concern for many gun enthusiasts and hunters. Obama has indicated he is behind the ban a number of times, and that it will be addressed as needed.
As of Monday, 65 Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, announced that they will stand behind their 2004 decision to let the semi-automatic gun ban expire, according to the NRA.
