Royal Elk

What is the description of a "Royal Elk"?? I always thought it ment a 7 X 7, however, I was watching Babe Winkleman on TV yesterday and he said a Royal elk was a 6 X 6. and a 7 x 7 was an Imperial Elk. Anyone know for sure?

What Babe says sounds right and I think a Royal Monarch is an 8 x 8. Let me look on my wall and see...

Not that I have ever seen a monarch except in a book. Hit a 7 X 6 in shoulder blade and watched my arrow flop off like a mad mosquito after he took two steps running away.

They are fun to chase during the rut...

An easy way to remember is the acronym RIM. Royal (6x6), Imperial (7x7), Monarch (8x8).
