Scanner Help Please

I still don't have a digital camera and have many older 35mm pictures I would like to turn into .jpg images and store on the computer.

Could you recommend a good scanner? What features to look for? Does it come with software or do you have to purchase a separate package? What is the price for a good scanner?

Any additional information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If all you want to scan is photographs, HP makes a nice picture scanner, it is just large enough for your normal ( or a little larger) sized snap shot and comes with software. I think I paid less than $50 at walmart.

Thanks, got the scanner all up and running last night. Works great and I spent over 3 hours scanning deer pictures.

Look out photo gallery, here I come!
