Shot Placement?

I'm planning on taking my recurve instead of a shotgun this spring. I've heard lots of different ideas about shot placement - through the wings, in the head, base of the tail... What have you guys had the most luck with for putting a bird down fast? Thanks

My first bird with a bow I put it right into his wing butt/shoulder socket area. It went through and busted his leg also, he didn't go anywhere. Last spring I put one right between the wings as he was walking away, he went 30 yards and flopped. If you can get one at full strut put it right up his ol corn hole, that'll kill him. If you're worried about wounding and not finding go for head neck shots, it's a kill or a miss in most cases.
