I have the 90% pants and ascent jacket. The Ascent line is more of a lighter weight pant/jacket. I think the Ascent line will be great for September elk at 7,000+ feet elevation and at lower elevations or early seasons where the temps aren't as extreme. On my javelina hunt, my Ascent jacket was warm enough with good layers under it, but that particular hunt was during an unusual cold spell in the desert. Of course, this is purely from a "living in the mountains and desert" perspective. You can probably translate that to your area easy enough. Probably late September/early October in the woods with a good layer underneath.
