Took Friday afternoon off and set up a stand in a new spot near a well-used trail and quite a few rubs. Put out a couple scent bombs hoping to play the wind. By near sundown, I was getting pretty cold and the wind hadn't let up much. Then heard something behind me and turned my head to see a decent six pointer sneaking up the draw with his nose to the ground. By the time I got turned around, he'd worked downwind of me and knew something was up, snorted and took off. He'd passed just 10 yds away at the closest. Wish I could've gotten back out Saturday or Sunday. Saw a buck chasing does Sunday a.m. on way to Ankeny. May have to sneak another afternoon later this week
