These are a little small for this time of year

I don't think they are going to make it too long into the fall......tiny little critters for this late in the summer.

We have a few small poults around here also. I was wondering how they will fair this winter. Overall it appears there aren't that many this year also I've noticed. Would the heavy rains we had in the spring hurt them?

I also have seen several small poults from a 2nd nesting. I'm sure all the rain and cool weather this spring damaged a lot of 1st nests for hens. I would think if they get their primary feathers in soon enough they should be able to weather the weather (no pun intended)

For the sake of decent hunting next spring lets hope so.
