This Mornings Hunt

I got up this morning knowing that I could hunt for only 30 min before I went to work. The only reason that I went was because I couldn't take it anymore. So there I am in a flannel, jeans, and cowboy boots in a doe stand only 100 yards from the neighbors house. At first light I heard a grunt come from the direction of the house, so I think hahah the neighbors messing with me. Well the grunt keeps going on and on. Im starting to get po'd by this point. Then I keeps getting closer grunting every 2 to 3 steps. Im thinking whats this moron doin? He heading straight for my stand. Whel turns out it was a 120" buck and came within 20 yards of my stand. Straight down wind and never smelled anything. Im still amazed how worked up that deer was and its only october 1st. Just thought I'd share that with ya.
 
this big front blowing through has a lot to do with the rutty activity i'm betting. can't wait for tonight, gotta strike while the iron is hot cuz once it warms back up things will slow down.
 
Some does are/have been in estrous already. You could have a hot doe in the area although the peak is still a month away.
 
Nobody should ever have to work from Oct 1-Dec 1. IMO

Last night while coming home after the rain storm, I saw what appeared to be a doe, cross the road and 4 bucks right behind. It looked like 3.5 and 2.5 year olds. I turned the car in the field driveway and they were all standing there. "The doe" made a circle going out of the field and they all followed the same way. "The doe" could have been a yearling, but I doubt they would have deamed him the leader to follow.

I didn't want to be the guy to start the post {there chasing already!} But it was an interesting observation.
 
you should all go back to college. Work is for the birds. I am trying everything I can to keep my summer money flowing untill dec.. Looks like i am gunna be well short.. got some new guns though

I have to work 9 days with 2 of those days in November, drives me nuts.
