THOUGHTS OF TEXAS TROPHY HUNTER

DOUBLE LUNG

last night i was watching that show on the the outdoor channel. i get a kick out of this show. from what i have seen is pretty much all these hunts are for penned in deer, and these people call themselves hunters. i just don't see how they can make a show on this stuff. if any of these people had to hunt like most of us do they would probably never see even does. just make me sick as to what they are promoting hunting to be. i could go on and on about this, but i will just stop here with it.

yeah,
last night they were hunting at Samson's Ridge in Illinois. They were using rifles, which tells me they were in a pen, since Illinois has no rifle season that I am aware of.

Horn Porn; that's classic!

It doesn't just happen with deer. I saw one with Little Jimmy Dickens goose hunting one time, geese were falling from the sky and the butt of his gun never got past his arm pit!

I trust very few deer hunts on film now, I would say the majority of them are taken in pens. A few money & big buck hungry people ruin it for the true hunters.

I have watched the outdoor channel a few times. I believe they hunt the penned up exotics the same way. The guy was in his shorts hunting, in South Texas. Come on.

Agreed.
Those shows drive me nuts.
I saw one a couple months ago where they were rifle hunting bucks in velvet in Wisconsin.
The nearly tame deer didn't even move away from the quickly advancing hunter (who needed a guide to steady his nerves for the 35 yard shot with the .308).
Shows like that are great fuel for the antis. Hell, they may make me anti-somthinorother.

I was on a sporting clay team that traveled around Mn, and we were at a place that raised deer just for those nice HERE HE COMES DONT MOVE movies!

The best part of the whole show is where the guy made a the real long shot "where he stretched HIS barrell." I found that funny because they hunter said "the guide said the gun is dead on at 200 yards." I doubt the guy had ever shot the gun. Wow!! That guy must be an awesome hunter, I wish I could get his autograph! Please give me a break. And I can't rememember the last time I shot a nice buck out of office chair. This whole show just cracks me up!! Well I am off to the woods tomorrow to go shed hunting....I will pay someone 20 bucks for every shed they put down for me to find....I promise it will be televised on the next texas trophy hunter. Promise!

I don't have much to add, other than I HATE PENS AND GAME FARMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe someday they with film a guy taking the meat out of the freezer and shooting it before he puts it in the frying pan.

It is sad that these types of shows may be the only view of hunting that a non hunting person may ever know.

Geez Rrweltzin, why so down on game farms and pens? You'd think they were spreading disease or something

( Nothing a few DNR sharpshooters can't solve) At least they take the halters off before they shoot...BW couldn't be more right about this type of crap influencing the non-hunting public; we have our work cut out for us to give a different image.
