I was in South Dakota recently hunting pheasants. It amazed the attitude about trespassing they have.
Being called a trespasser is the equivalent of a woman being called a whore. You don't want to get caught trespassing! It spreads around town fast. I think it is that way all over out West.
Why in Iowa is it an acceptable thing to do for alot of hunters?
The company I work for charged a man for trespassing and he hired a lawyer, got the charges dropped and sued us for defamation of character. I hear people from all over the state complaining that shotgun deer hunters walk right through their property. Why do landowners tolerate it?
By the way, if you tried to call a sheriff during deer shotgun season you probably didn't see them for a few hours, long after the hunters are gone...
