Weeds

The clover field we planted got flooded last week. The water is gone and the clover is coming up real nice. The only problem is that the flood water brought in new weed seeds and they are coming up now too!

I don't know how bad they will get this late in the year. Would you guys just keep the weeds short and wait for a good freeze and then frost seed in Feb to get the clover thicker?

Derek,
We have just been mowing ours and it has been working fine (granted I am no Paul green thumb double tree but then again...). Going to mow it one more time in the next week or so then frost seed.

Keep the weeds clipped for sure and you can sure frost seed into it next Feb./March if you feel it's too thin.

In most cases clovers will thicken up the following year without adding more seed..so looks now can be deceiving.

It takes time for the stolons to spread but they will just as they appear in a lawn (and folks work so hard to kill it...
