I talked to a guy the other day that said he read in Appanoose county, 51% is owned or leased by non-residents, this is self explanatory........

I think it's 47%, it was from an article in the DM Register about three weeks ago. Scary.

Is it owned for farming or by those who bought a place to hunt? In the southeast where my property is located, I have heard that some of the land has been purchased by out of state farmers who found the price of Iowa land cheaper than buying land in their own state closer to home.

To clarify, it's 47% of the county's farrow and timbered land, generally considered useless to farmers.
