Took my two cousins out yesterday afternoon
Preston Feller
and Matthew Begnoche.
Had a hen come in and hit a dusting bowl 150yds away from us. Then a bit later she was joined by a couple more hens, 2 jakes, and a strutter. They eventually worked their way away from us. So we sat and waited for them to hopefully work their way back to us.
Finally an hour later and they had worked back and forth along the creek. For some reason they started working our way through the middle of the field. The two jakes were a long ways in the lead. They were coming in infront of Matthew so he got adjusted and was going to be the one shooting. He let the lead bird get to 30yds, waited for it to stop and NAILED him right in the head! I'm working on editing the video and it will be up early next week, hopefully anyway... we'll see how well the internet at the farm uploads videos to Vimeo.
Anyway, we celebrated, laughed, and took a few pictures. These two are quite the pair to hunt with, never a dull moment and never a quiet minute without a joke or another question. :grin:

Preston said his knees were getting soar so he sat straight up in this pic and looks like a giant...
