Late muzzleloader 11 point

I was up at 5:45 am and ready to go out timber with my dad. I had to sneek into the timber at 6:45 and after two cold days of not seeing a deer moral was a little down. It was 7 degrees, but I saw a couple of figures on the horizon. I scoped them out, about 4 skinheads looking my direction. So I carefully made my way to the timber and when I finally got there, I looked through the binoculars and this buck was laying down in the timber at ~250 yards. After two hours of stealthing around I got a 40 yard shot. When the smoke clear all I could see was the antlers sticking up out of the grass. Inside spread 21" in and a massive forked brow tine. Dad also got a buck,a seven pointer, but finally I got the Big Boy. Iowa whitetail hunting is one of the greatest outdoor adventures, period

He was laying in the timber and there was a 20 acre patch of grass. Luckily the grass was on an eastfacing slope so the snow was really patchy. I was able to stay low in the grass and there werent any sticks to crack. I just slowly crept up on him and when I poped out of the grass he was still in the same spot that I had seen him in the binoculars. He jumped up and snorted and ran in the timber about 30 yards from me. I couldnt believe he hadnt moved at all. I heard a shot like 10 min later. I thought my dad had got him so I snuck to the edge of the grass. After about an hour I saw him circling around the grass patch. So crawled like 15 yards into the grass. I was sitting Indian style in about eye high grass and he was following 6 does at 40 yards. The 50 cal stopped him in his tracks. It is my first 150-class buck Im stoked
