11/18/2012 - landowner spotted this deer yesterday morning and noticed that, although he could get around fine, he appeared to be favoring one of his legs, he didn't want the deer to suffer so a friend and I went after him with our bow. He had bedded in some cattails and I was able to stalk into about 18 yards and found a hole in the cattails to thread my arrow through, the buck jumped but didn't go far as the shot was perfect. Appears to have been hit by a car a couple of days ago, had infection in one leg. Beautiful mule deer, and glad to see he won't suffer a long harsh death.
