Any here shoot traditional bows only?

To get this thread BACK ON TRACK...

This fall I'll be carrying a recurve quite a bit, looking forward to it.

Go to Bowsites "Leatherwall" and post for an Iowa arrow maker.

Sweet. Thank you

That site is pretty cool. I've been looking for one just like that for some time but never hit on it for some reason. So, double thanks.

I just ordered a hybrid long bow from Don Dow. I had one when I first started shooting a stick bow, but sold it to fund something else. I'll likely start carrying that vs. my Hoyt Buffalo since it will be lighter, quieter, and lower hand shock. I just need to start looking for a nice leather bow quiver and get some arrows flying well out of it!

Well, did you get your hybrid bow yet? How do you like it?

I have ordered from the nocking point before, he is in southern Minnesota. Also used to be a guy in Des Moines i used to buy all my traditional stuff from. Barefoot traditions was the name of his shop. He used to carry a ton of stuff.

I wouldn't limit your arrow search to Iowa. Find the shafts that you need and get em.

Have not checked this thread in quite a while but did get my long bow. I love how light it is compared to the buffalo. Very quiet and plenty fast. IMO they are the best deal there is on a custom trad bow. Don Dow has since passed but Rich Emery is still making his bows.

Thanks to the Leatherwall bowsite I found a place called Blacktail that make some SPECTACULAR recurves!!!!

You guys should check out their Legacy line ( maybe not though!). I'm gonna have to save for awhile!!

I make and use my own from Port Orford Cedar shafting I purchased many years ago.

But there are a lot of good folks out there:

Thanks for those links.
I'm real close to making my own but I just haven't taken that step yet. I contacted a guy over on Leatherwall and I was hoping he would hook me up with a set but I lost contact with him.

I have 4 that are in serviceable shape that I got when I purchased the bow. Those will have to do for now.
