If This Doesn't Frustrate You

Friend posted this on Facebook this afternoon. This buck was standing in a small park right across from Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. I'm assuming that he's cruising the river looking for hot does. Or he's just smart.

I watched a buck chase a doe around in the menards parking lot this year for a while. There really unpredictable this time of year.

It seems that there are more and more bigger deer in urban areas, not just Iowa either. I am seriously considering hunting more urban areas if I am just wanting to go after a "trophy" deer. Would help some of these areas out also by taking my fair share of does.

This is frustrating. I was leaving Wal-Mart the other night and spotted 2 bucks pushing 3 does along the ridge in back. smaller buck was a nice 6 point while the other was a nice 10 point with a spread that you could have easily placed a basketball between the rack. I am looking forward to hunting in the morning as we have spotted a nice old mature buck running some public land south of us... Have only seen him 2 times and hes locked down with 3 does..... Will post more if we can get it done tomorrow.

backyard buck

Tell me about it. This buck has showed up in my dads yard, inside city limits of Iowa Falls, for the last 3 years. It shows up the end of October and hangs out for a few weeks. My dad has quite a few resident city does in his yard all year and this buck knows where he is safe and has some does all to himself.

I can't imagine how my dad feels. He took these pictures with bow in hand while filling a city doe tag. lol He sent me a couple pictures of it taken through the sight housing on his bow.
