Hey guys, I have a couple questions. I recently got a picture on one of my trail cams and I'm pretty sure it's a young mt lion; so one of my questions is, is it illegal to hunt them? Last I knew you could shoot them, but I wasn't sure if anything had changed. My next question might be a stupid one, but has anyone tried calling them in Iowa? If they're running around on my property I'd like to get rid of them before they take out some of my deer population. Any advice is appreciated.

As far as I know they're legal to shoot. I know multiple ones have been shot over the last few years and I've never heard anything about people getting in trouble for it. May be worth a quick call to your local DNR officer though. I bet calling one in would be tough, but worth a shot!

You can kill it but it is highly unlikely he is still on your property. Those things roam like crazy

I actually know someone who shot one with a bow in Decatur co about 10 years ago. Kinda scary those giant cats.
