    Stand and Stalk

A few years ago, I saw my target buck in a field going to the timber toward my stand. I ended up getting ready and sitting on the ridge waiting for him. Once I had him spotted, I knew my only chance was to sneak up on him. He ended up bedding down, wind was perfect, I took my boots off to make...

Same, we have a lab and it doesn't bother them one bit. You never know when they are going to come either just have to be there at the right time.

iowawhitetail coyote count and random dog hunt pic

Multiple nights have I woken up to coyotes howling and found tracks in our backyard. Our neighbor has complained about them coming close to her house and waking her up in the middle of the night. Hopefully we can put a dent in them!

Crazy how brave the coyotes are getting going right through our backyard 30-40 yards away from the house. So we put a deer carcass out and tied it to a tree. Dad has shot two coyotes from the house over the past week.

    ISU Archery Club

I'm in it as well. Just finding the time to go and shoot when they have practice is kind of tough. The tournament shoots are pretty fun! The club is growing pretty fast, it has almost doubled over the past couple years.

What would you have done different?

Overall it was a good season and had some opportunities. Ya don't always have to shoot one for it to be fun. Wish I would have practiced a little farther to be confident on a shot I didn't take.

    So close...(BBD?)

It's not a race to see who can shoot the biggest deer, its about patience and discipline and waiting for the right shot to present itself. If ya don't have the best shot, wouldn't you rather see him walk and have another chance at him later which is more likely to happen rather than wounding...

    Nobody talkin trash yet?

Both basketball teams are making a rebound back into the big picture with Hoiberg bringing back some spark to the Cyclones. They gave some of the best teams in the nation a run for their money last year. Who knows if it will stay around but last year they had a pretty darn good team (Royce White).
