    Muck Boots

I've read complaints about the UA boots durability. Haven't read a review of the muck boot that complains about the durability. But good info, I'll check into them some more.

    Skunked!

I've been out everyday from5:30 till noon since Sunday. I've seen one deer. Sat till 9 this morning. Nothing! I've pretty much come to the conclusion that its all over but the crying here in louisa county. I did get to sit one night. Saw a few deer enter the field but well after dark.

    accessing stands question

I'm hunting a draw that runs out into the field. It's a stand I can only hunt in a south wind. I have no access other than the field. I guess I could walk up the draw but it would be loud. It is thick.

    accessing stands question

If you had to walk across a picked corn field to access your stand for a south wind would you: A: go across it in the dark and hope you don't bump deer out of the field.or B: wait till you can see the field is empty and sneak in right after first light. Thanks for the input guys!

    Does anyone care?

There was overwhelming support for the DNR to run our natural resources and take all the politics out of it. Heard that comment from burlington crowd a lot. It was also repeated by nearly all sites that had more than 4 or 5 people there.

    Does anyone care?

I atteended in Burlington. Here are some totals for sites. lowest: Carroll 6, Creston 6, Ft Dodge 4, Onawa 6, and Spencer 5. Highest: Laporte City 45, Clinton 40, Decorah 34. Most sites had right at 20 give or take a few here and there. Very interesting to see the different areas ideas. In...

A letter to the Governor's office, (and reply)

Again, its going the route of the haves and the have nots. The people who have enough money to lease or own large acerages will always see deer. For the people who hunt public ground or have to do it the old fashion way by knocking on doors you are going to see less deer and get less...

    dead buck question?

Ok, I just dealt with this exact situation this spring. Buck I was hunting for a year. Don't see him for a year. Found him this spring, had been hit by a car and made it to some real tall weeds. Not much left but skull, rack and a few bones. Called my CO. told him what I had found and that...

    Odds??

The ground is bluff ground. It has 2 grass pastures. 1 120 acre field, 4 deep draws with many fingers extending out into the pastures. The tillable ground has 8 foot tall switch grass all around it. Timber is mostly tall oaks with good undergrowth. Boardering properties are: cattle pasture...
