    Indian Burial Mounds

Yes, You can see the two humps in the hilltop leading to this Pioneer Cemetery. Most I have seen personally in Iowa are very similar in location and some of the descriptions in previous posts. This is a hilltop overlooking a river bottom. Many, probably thousands were destroyed when the...

    Arrow building

Duco works fine for fletching over anything. Water based polyurethane is one of the best user friendly sealers for wood (real) arrows. Use a dip tube. If you enjoy it get raw shafting and do them up your self. Nothing is more personal than your own cresting and finish. "One lugs a compound...

    field dressing gloves

Neopreme Gloves I used no gloves for 25 years, and then one cold winter day while my knife froze to my hand, my hunting buddy was just working away with some gloves on. NEOPREME gloves. Like for setting decoys etc are the perfect choice. They are not slippery, they keep the knife blade...

    "tuning" a longbow?

Howard Hill said "Grip it like a suitcase handle". Hitting your arm is inevitable! Look at all the old movies and english longbow pictures and you see large arm guards. Even if you don't hit your arm the string travels so close that any baggy clothing will catch. I forgot my...

Early muzz. tags are on sale!

I would have lost this bet also. But I think the law change last year probably had the biggest impact. It helped us prioritize.

    Tree rats

Some of the best practice in the world. As well as an abundant resource. Don't let false assumptions keep you from having fun in the woods during the fall.

Any here shoot traditional bows only?

I did not know there was anything else? ;) Since 1964, took 5 years off in the 70's to try the compound but it never gave me the satisfaction or challenge of a simple stick & string and working my skills to their best. Discovered by trial and error "that one lugs a compound, carries a...

Yes, started Coyote & Crow hunting several years ago to fill in the gap between deer hunting and spring. I started with an old cassette tape player, but now have a Fox Pro caller and it is fun.
