    Black Hills Family Vacation

I'd highly suggest the sunset viewing at Rushmore, it's very patriotic and well worth it. My kids enjoyed doing a Chuckwagon dinner and show, kindly cheesy but they liked it. They also liked Bear Country USA. We hit the Badlands on the way home, they were awesome.

    Minnesota Fishing Trip Ideas

We take an annual family camping trip to Minnesota and have stayed at a couple different lake resorts. We have avoided the big lakes such as Leech, Winnie, Rainy River, etc and have always had good fishing, but not like what you would likely find in Canada. We are going to Pelican Lake near Orr...

    Youth Bows

We went through this step last spring with my then 8 y/o. He stepped up from a Genesis and ended up settling on the Hoyt Ignite. First Hoyt I've ever had in my house but it seems to be just what we were looking for. He completed the R100 on Saturday with it and did well. The Craze was our next...

Caterer / mobile grill Strawberry Point Area

Not sure if the grocery store in town caters or not, but they have a large outdoor grill I've seen them cook on. Might be worth calling them. Its the store that became famous when the deer entered it and crashed around last year.

    Youth bow

Almost ended up with the Craze, but went with the Hoyt Ignite. First time I've ever had a Hoyt in my house, but sure made for an excited kid. He is now set for many years. Thanks for the advice guys.

    Youth bow

Question maybe someone can help me with for my son, almost 9 years old. I think the Diamond Atomic would be a good fit for him, but worried he may grow out of it quickly. Wondering if I should step up to the Infinite Edge or Mission Craze, as they have much more room to grow with him into his...

    Cabin Rentals This Summer

We spent a week at Timber Trails Resort last July and really enjoyed it. We pulled our camper up then rented a pontoon, but the cabins seem very nice. Walker, MN and Leach Lake are nearby and a good day trip when the wind made the lake too rough. We may return next year. You will find many...

    Women advice

It is very interesting to read the variety of posts here. There is an array of good advice here, some good and some questionable, but you know your gf better than us. Compromise is a must and should go both ways. However, just as sportsmen evolve through different stages we teach about in...

    Labs

Our chocolate female lab was recently bred with a friend's black male. If everything took, we expect pups around the second week of March. If so, pups would likely be ready to go in mid-April. We are predicting mostly chocolates and blacks but have a chance at yellows too. Will be papered pups...

The Gov and Drury's together ??

Branstad owns his own little deer sanctuary where it shouldn't be too tough to get a shot at a good buck or to shoot a pile of does. Of course, walking out his back door on his own lto hunt doesn't get any PR, as compared to doing it with hot-shot TV types where it is filmed, replayed on cable...

    Stocking a pond

If you are draining the pond out dry or willing to use chemical to kill whatever is left off, you should qualify for the DNR to be able to stock your pond for a very minimal cost. I think their main requirements is the pond to be considered "dead" meaning no existing fish, at least a 1/2 acre...

    Meat Grinder Problem

Was your meat cold? Have seen guys grind deer the same day they shot them and the warm meat turns to mush. Colder the better. I will sometimes place my grinder parts in the freezer or outside if below freezing. Seems to grind "cleaner" that way.
