    White Clovers

Planted my new clover plot about a month ago. Very little rain for the first several weeks. We have gotten 3 inches in the last several weeks and my clover is thriving with a great stand, but very small. With a frost in the near future and a freeze in the next several weeks...will my new...

    Switchgrass

Well tomorrow is Easter and I am going to see the sunrise on my Kubota before church. I know it is a little late... but time constraints and soggy fields have put limits on me. I will drop 8-9lbs of Kanlow/CIR at a 30/80 ratio with the Great Plains drill. 18 degrees here tomorrow morning so I...

Is anyone putting in any water holes this year? How are you going to go about it?

I must be missing something here. Go to Tractor Supply and by a galvanized stock tank. Mine is oval. Top it off 2 or 3 times during the hot months if you don't have a capture system. Add a few tsp of copper sulfate once or twice during the year...wala clean clear water they will drink day...

    Ever Calm Scents

Really! A tracking dog can follow a human scent for miles... days after it was put down on the ground. A whitetail deer has 100 million more nasal scent nerves than a tracking dog....you can calculate the odds and spend your money as you so desire. Just an observation.

    Cereal Grains and cover crops

Trapper, I know you have posted your GP settings for the cereal mix. Are you able to post your settings for the brassica mix, and the settings you have used for the spring brassica follow-up mix. I know my settings may vary slightly but you have no doubt created the wheel already. Thanks, and...

Paul, I know you and your son are drilling most of your fields now. Are you putting down liquid fertilizer on those fields or are you incorporating prior to drilling? Thanks.

    Cereal Grains and cover crops

Paul, I am looking at buying the new 706NT GPD. I do not typically seed natives and will only use the small seed and large seed box. Mostly using it for food plots ( your plans )They do have a fertilizer box option to replace the native box. This would allow me to no till and still place...

    Acorns to Oaks!

What is the best way(survival) to winter the left over oaks in the rootmaker trays that I did not get planted this fall? I hope to plant the remainder in the spring when time permits. Can I leave them in the dark in my barn? Do they need to stay moist until freeze?

    Acorns to Oaks!

My rootmaker Chinkapins are starting to yellow at the leaves. At what point are they dormant "enough" to plant in the ground without stressing them? Should I wait another week or two. We have frosted overnight but not froze. When are others typically planting? For those that I do not plant...
