    Little guy still packing

Last 3 years I've had a buck still holding in the middle of April. I'm reasonably certain it is the same deer.

    Food in Des Moines

It's a chain. The one by the airport is good. There's one by bass pro in Altoona also. The wife and I also like fuzzy's tacos too but not sure if there is one down that way.

    Trapping 2023-2024

I figured that too. Them being a bigger problem than normal I think is from the dry weather. Normally we have a couple good rains each year that will tear their dams out, but haven't had a rain like that in well over a year. Just don't want their dams getting big enough to back water into the...

    Trapping 2023-2024

Too bad you don't live closer. We could definitely use an ambitious beaver trapper. The guy that has trapped here forever is getting old enough he doesn't do it as much as he used to.

    Transplanted a chestnut out yesterday

Do you leave the trees growing in protein tubs out all winter? Also do you drill drainage holes in the tubs. Also what kind of soil you are using. Interested in your setup because I have access to a bunch of protein tubs.

    Beans and corn together

If your corn was stored in a cool dry area it should be fine. You can always do a germ test on it to make sure. Have to Google how to do it but basically put a handful between wet paper towels and see how many sprout.

Roundup Ready Corn & Soybean Food Plot

Lots of guys here use resicore and get along well. You need to be careful with overlaps. The stinger in resicore can carry over in dry weather into next year's crop depending on what you are planning to plant next year. Stinger can be rough on beans the following year. One other option is that...

    Pulling Autumn Olive & Honeysuckle?

I have pulled honeysuckle out of a buddy's yard and it worked fine. Be aware you are going to have big divets everywhere from the rootballs. I have a notch brand puller that has been fantastic. Im sure they are more than 1500 but are worth it in my opinion. We use it mostly to pull mullberries...

    Land prices / insane!!!

There was a farm just down the road on a steffes auction in last couple weeks. Farm is a little cut up with a tiny creek and a big waterway, but csr2 was 92 I think. Was 144 acres with highway access. I think it brought 11,700 per acre. Not sure if they no saled it or not. I thought it would...
