    Clover

If you don't have open soil, throwing seed is a waste of time. Personally, I'd just mow the broadleaf weeds. Then lightly disc or till in the fall, seed with cereal rye and clover seed. Pack back in.

    Pheasant rebound…

Start a separate thread if you do this. I'd love to follow along! As would many others I'm sure.

    Speeding ticket by camera?

I could see how they could not enforce for out of state drivers. In state, probably can’t renew your license plates without paying.

    Which Implements?

A tandem disc can keep the ground level, if setup correctly. A center sweep kit really keeps ridging to a minimum. As does making sure the front is buried slightly deeper so the rear outer discs don't create a heavy furrow. But a chain harrow with some weight would definitely smooth out if...

    Switchgrass

I'd be careful.. This year seems very much ahead of normal. Switch coming back here in mid MO is 2"+ high already.

    Thermal drone herd analysis…..

Agree 100%. I don't run cell cameras either for the same reason. I do enjoy running cameras however, just for an inventory and past data purposes. Still get the kid at Christmas feeling pulling those cards..

    Soil test results

This is getting into somewhat of a deep dive, but I think its important to note there are two different schools of thought when it comes to assessing soil for growth potential. One is strictly reading the soil test, and just addressing the levels of nutrients to reach sufficient needs for crop...

Prescribed Burn - Backpack Blower Recommendations

I broke down and bought a Stihl BR 800 C-E Magnum about 2 weeks ago ..after reading this d@mn thread. One of the best purchases I've made. Makes a park out of any trail or area you put it to use on :)

    Food plot clearing

IMO - Depends on your goals. Just deer, or other wildlife as well? Deer hunting wise: - Place a few to create a pinch point near your blind. - Position some of them to screen your entry. Or burn them all and move on :)

    Neck Injury

Hard to say. My last photo of him was December 15th, checking a scrape. He did look like he lost weight, but all the other bucks did as well. Normal post rut type condition.. No ribs, etc showing. One of the more active bucks on our farm.

    Soil test results

If your plots stay ahead of your deer, then I would tend to agree. However, it is still key in the production of plant protein, a necessary and very beneficial nutrient for all crops. Obviously key in body development, milk production in deer. As for how much protein a deer can handle, I'm...

    Soil test results

Yes! All legumes benefit from sulfur. Sulfur is required to produce elevated protein levels in all crops, including clover. Most clovers require about 2# S per ton of yield. Can get anywhere from 1-4 tons / acre on a clover plot each year. Depending on your soil fertility it may not be a...

    Soil test results

Magnesium and Calcium are the foundational relationship that form the physical soil structure. The correct physical structure is what allows the biological side to blossom. The soil colloid (or dinner plate), only holds so much (food) on it. - Magnesium tightens soil, which holds in moisture...
