A few years back we decided that the old 4020 was "too big" for the farm these days as we are no longer "actually" farming and rather food plotting. The farm is really hilly and the 4020 could reach less than 50% of the locations we wanted to use it. We sold the 4020 buck/mx7 and all and went...
So a few people and myself are debating about the age of a deer. I have pictures of him in 2014 and 2016 to share. Please respond what age you believe the deer to be in each picture. I have harvest photo's as well just trying to get an idea what the community thinks. Thank you for your help.
The 2016-2017 deer season is officially over for me as I have filled my last tag on Friday. This year I took a new job quite a ways from my home. I really didn't think it was going to be a good hunting year for me as the job was going to dramatically decrease the time I could spend in the...
I would buy Treadwright wardens. I just picked up a set of 265 75 16s for 106 a tire shipped. Great tires, my last set of the mud tires lasted 45k with no issues.
I don't post many pictures anymore but thought the community would enjoy this picture as much as I did.... Enjoy... Season will be here soon. If i had to guess he likes to be 140ish
He was shot in central Iowa, So I doubt it was your deer trapshooter. As for the arrow, it was in him in November, so it was actually very well healed up. You could old see the scar in the meat and not really in the hide.
Well I saw in your previous post that you thought you shot a 10 pt low in the shoulder with a thunderhead. I question whether it is the same deer as this one was a 6x7 and the remnant scar looked to be from a rage style broadhead as it was long and narrow. Where are you located?
I first saw this buck on my trail camera on my home farm early in the summer/fall. He was not consistent by any means, but I did have a good sense that he was in the area.
Fast forward to archery season and the neighbor sent me a picture of the buck with an arrow sticking out of him...
Few more weeks and I think it will be time to start targeting cats. I finally got one big enough on camera that I feel willing to take. What are your thoughts on weight? Great to see them coming back year after year.
Buy a pair of army bunny boots....Your feet will never get cold again. They cost under 30 dollars and have been revolutionary for my hunting experience. I rarely ever wear anything other than just plain white socks and my feet have yet to get cold.
I used army tent canvas material as the foundation, I bought camo from wal Mart, and I used a down comforter for the insulation. I found an old waterproof hood to top it off. Made it for around 50 bucks, I no longer worry about the cold.
So I have been following this deer "longmire" for three years. He has never scored well, but guessing his age at 7.5 or older... Cool rack. He must have gotten and injury this year as his rack has changed. What do you think he weights? I just got his recent picture of him all puffed up...
This past Friday night I had the fortune of taking one of by good buddies from out of state hunting. He was in town for the day and just wanted to see some deer running. We got in the stand right after work Friday night and it wasn't long before we saw bucks chasing does. Getting close to...
I had my number one buck at 45 yards last night. He was moving prior to 6pm. The joys of shooting traditional archery. I would have been done last night if I hunted with a compound.
Very hard to tell from the front. Side pictures showing the belly and brisket are best. Based on the view, I see the neck attaches very low to the brisket, I see some white patches around the eyes, but without a better view its hard to say. As a 10 (with stickers), looks to be outside his...
