I think the whole "baiting spreads disease" argument is bs. If they were that concerned with spreading disease then it would be illegal to bait anytime and not just during hunting seasons. Also the idea that just because you put a pile of corn on the ground a mature buck will automatically come...
A lot of people do the same thing with supplemental feed, feed them all year and not hunt them. I am not against food plots as I think the guys that utilize them put in a lot of work and deserve the benefits they bring, and there is very much an upside to food plot and habitats. I just do not...
You hear this debate every year and every year it is the same. It is legal to bait if you have the money, land, and time to plant food plots (designed specifically for the purpose of drawing in deer). Coming from a part of the country where baiting is legal (Texas), I did not care for it. Not...
I grew up in hunting in Texas, and have several interesting stories but the funniest/ craziest one happened while my brother and I were out scouting a new piece of property we got permission to hunt. The landowner had told us to be on the look you for wild hogs and that he had several traps...
Great job on the ducks. I as well have decided quality over quantity for the days I hunt this year. Plus it allows me to say "you know dear, I think I would rather spend time with you and the kids today" which is not a complete fib, but she doesn't have know the wind/weather is not right.
Big Oak Archery is great he is only open Tuesday and Thursdays 5 to 9 and Saturdays 9 to 1. He can get pretty busy this time of year so you might try giving him a call or at least make sure you are there when he opens.
I have a Mahindra 3535 and I can't say enough good things about it. When I was looking at buying it was between JD and Mahindra. The reason I went with the Mahindra was for the price point I was looking at I could get twice the tractor with a longer warranty, plus the dealer is just two miles...
I think it is kind of like the Moonshine shows. That stuff probably does happen somewhere, but not when a tv camera is around. Those shows are all scripted, I think those shows would be a lot more interesting without all the BS.
This is great advice. One of the issues I had last year was not being able to retain accuracy when shooting with thicker gloves for the stated reasons above, and I believe it cost me a nice buck as my hands froze waiting on a nice buck to come in, and my numb fingers bumped the trigger before my...
From everything I have seen things are just starting to heat up. Witnessed a Buck and Doe breeding on my way into work this morning. Sure makes it hard to think about work when you know it about to get good.
On my way into work this morning I happen to glance over at a cut corn field and not 30 yards off the hwy there is a buck and doe in mid copulation. This is in Mills CO. I also agree it is starting to heat up, at least here. Yesterday was the first time I saw big bucks chasing during the day.
