I agree with much of this. Cameras have already eliminated a lot of the mystery that deer used to have for me. I used to believe a true monster could show up any time and that kept me going. Anymore, I pretty much know what I'll have to hunt on any given year before the season even opens.

I think the difference is the group would be less likely to fill all 4 buck tags if the whole group wasn't able to help fill them. I'm not saying it needs changed but that's the obvious argument.

Gotcha, I didn't realize you were talking about snaring in deep snow. I do the same thing. I like to stomp down my own trail through deep snow banks on the edge of a grass fields and then put snares on the trail. Instant coyote funnel!
