A surprise from my Iowa buck this season!

That is neat, critters have a way of living through more than we often think they can. I have found 2 broadheads while skinning deer..... one was actually lodged in the back of a skull just behind the ear canal.

    Pedestal Mounts/Stands

Personally I think old weathered barn wood or an old fence post makes the best pedestal, just looks natural and part of the piece. Finished wood bases just look dont flow with the mount IMO.

    Button buck breeding

I wonder if it doesnt happen more than we think! The big boys cant be everywhere all the time. Last night I watched a button buck chasing the heck out of doe.

    Bobcat litter

I have a short game cam of 2 kittens wrestling around. I think 2 or 3 is pretty common litter size. At lease thats all that seem to survive.

    Elite Hunter 29/60

If I was in driving distance I would buy that bow off of you. That is a great bow! Have one just like it, but I could always us another!

Small number of apple and pear trees remaining for this spring

We are just about done selling apple and pear trees for this year. We have some Chestnut crabapples and a few various pears left if someone is looking to add some additions to their habitat workings or even the backyard for their own eating enjoyment. You can see our remaining inventory at...

    Apple/Pear Trees

Put the root portion of the trees in a plastic bag with some damp newspaper or something with a bit of moisture in it. Loosely tie the bag around the trunks. If you open the bag and can feel moisture on the plastic it is damp enough. If not spray some water into the bag.

    Apple/Pear Trees

I used it almost exclusively for 5 years, very few problems out here in the wide open plains. I do like adding a t-post across from split in the concrete reinforcement wire. That way it is locked into place when I open it up to get inside to weed, add mulch, prune, etcc.

    What do you think

I vote bobcat. I dont think I have ever seen a domestic cat with spots like that. The backs of the ears also are typical of bobcat.

    Apple/Pear Trees

Sligh 1 has a lot of good recommendations. I would add that while disease resistance is definitely a plus, if your willing to spray you can spread the variety list a bit further. Actually from Sligh1 's list you are going to need to spray for cedar apple rust if you have cedars around on Honey...

    Fruit trees for sale

Guys we still have a few trees available for spring of 2017. We are a small, family run nursery in south-central Nebraska. We have a good selection of disease resistant apple and pear tree varieties. We deliver to the Omaha area once or twice a spring or can ship your trees to you (fairly...

    Tree Planting

I dont know the prices of the Iowa State Nursery and these others will require shipping, but Lawyers Nursery out of Montana has good prices or Missouri Dept of Conservation will ship out of state as well with what I consider good prices. However, MDC typically sells out if you dont order early.

    Cool deer! Love the face.

    Do Bobcats eat deer?

Without a doubt they will eat new born deer fawns and plenty of flightless turkey poults. Mature deer probably have little to fear. I am unsure about the impact on mature turkey numbers.

    Capping a Deer

Rule Number 1 - Always leave more cape than you think your taxidermist could ever need! Lots of the forms on the market show a lot more shoulder, brisket and even back line for the pedistals than you think. I would rather cut the excess off later than to wonder how to make something work on a...

I shoot an Elite "Hunter" and love it. I have often felt like the video on the "Energy" is possible with my "Hunter" but I dont have the nerve to try it!
