Coyotes Feeding on Dead Deer

On a beautiful frosty winter morning, we went for a walk by the river. Saw 3 coyotes on the ice and after a closer look, noticed they were feeding on a dead buck. Snapped a photo of this one after they saw us & ran off.

wonder if they ran it out on the ice where a deer has no footing and killed it ?

Had one about 5 yards from meeting Mr. Muzzy yesterday morning, but he must've winded me just in time. After I got out of the tree I saw a bunch of tracks all leading to a dead deer as well.

Windwalker....Would be hard to know that but it didn't look that way to me. There was open water on the river so I wasn't able to get to the deer either. So, who knows. Can't trust the rivers just yet, as far as ice is concerned.

Had what looks like coyotes take down a yearling on the pond right behind my house.

Cool thing is the last couple of days there has been two bald eagles hanging around and feeding on the carcass.
