Crp

Continuous sign-ups include riparian buffers along streams, wetlands, filter strips(grass contour strips instead of terraces) and some highly erodible land. These can be enrolled anytime and usually pay more per acre than the general sign-ups.

Continuous practices are aimed more towards a specific resource concern. Examples: quail buffer, filter strips, wetland restorations, SAFE practices, pollinator habitat... A few of the continuous practices do pay better. Uncle Sam will give you a 20% bonus on your rental rate if you restore a wetland or seed down a filter strip. Not all practices give the bonus but almost all of them have better cost share than general crp.

General crp uses a bidding process to get in and only during a designated general signip. Score enough points, you're in. Theoretically, you can sign up for continuous crp anytime... except right now. No farm bill!!

Continuous practices are getting to be more competitive than general crp. We have a lot of continuous options now and as said before, they at a bare minimum have better cost share.
