Eclipse

BDAHMS

Be here Now
I know a lot of people dont care about the eclipse- so I would exit this post now:)

But I wanted to see it in totality as there is a HUGE different of just seeing it almost complete and being under the direct path. So I was fortunate enough to fly down with a buddy to Columbia Missouri and watch it from the airport- great experience! for the 2 minutes of totality- it went dark, we had a 360 deg sunset, bugs came out and started chirping, could see solar flares, venus was extremely bright, was well worth the trip down

Here are some pics of the day- all the pics of the sun were taken through my vortex binos so they arent as clear as a nice camera would have done- but I worked with what I had

Ya I couldn't care less about it but very nice pics. Thanks for sharing cause I missed it. Maybe next time :D

Those are good pics. I was able to see the local 92% eclipse through some clouds yesterday. Made it a little hazy but I can say I saw it first hand.

Me too. ^^ Although one of my boys traveled down to Cameron, MO, to watch it, I was pretty ambivalent. He did say that when the Totality was evident that it got quite dark and the coyotes started howling. Apparently no one told the yotes that it wasn't a real sunset! :)

Great pics! I ended up nearby in Rocheport, MO and at the last minute chased some blue sky we could see. We ended up on a farm hillside with about 20 other people near the Missouri. It clouded up there too but then during the totality it cleared and we could see it for about 40 seconds. It was amazing! We could hear groups of people scattered along that backroad cheering as the clear sky moved over them! It was quite an adventure!!

Cool pics! I didn't get to see it first hand but saw several news reports on it that day. Being in the totality would have been really neat! Maybe next time!

I took my lunch break Monday during the time it was suppose to be the best to see it in DSM. I ran on the bike trail and it definitely got a bit darker out and the clouds had that night time look to them. What I thought was neat is all the crickets chirping and cicadas buzzing like it was evening/night time.
