I was just wondering what your thought's are on the effect's of gutting a deer in the timber and what effect's this has on hunting that area soon after.Does this spook deer out of the area for any lenghth of time or do the deer except this smell and continue to use the area?

It's worth dragging the deer a couple hundred yards away. In this area, and I expect most areas in Iowa, I'm more concerned with coyote's spending alot of time in the area. I doubt deer have the ability to reason. cut pile does'nt equal hunter in a deers mind. On the other hand the smell of blood is alarming to them. They are not stupid but remember they don't think or reason like humans.
