First time on the river in '08

Well, I found some time in between home improvement projects, which seem to be never ending, and took my nephew and daughter out for an evening on the river. The cats weren't hitting very well, but we couldn't keep the carp and drum off the hook. They may be trash fish, but the kids love to hook into em. Here are a couple quick pictures I snapped off with my phone.

They had a great time. Before I even got the anchor up, they were asking me when we were gonna go again.

That's what it's all about, make sure those kids have fun. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Don't be afraid to fillet up some of those drum. They actually are pretty good table fare. I think you might be suprised.

Drum are good eating when the water is still cold. Taste like crappie IMO. When the water warms up they arent worth a dang.
