Gun season plots

looking to put in one acre plot mainly for shotgun seasons and possibly late season muzzy. With only 1 acre corn and beans aren’t an option. Turnips have been hit and miss. What should I plant to gun hunt over? What’s the best late season draw besides corn and beans?

Beans and corn are an option if you efence them in until you want to hunt. They won't last too long after the fence is removed so have to pick a time to take the fence down.
Ww, or rye will last a lot longer if that's your goal to have food to hunt over for a longer period of time. Or overseed these into beans /corn after maturity.

Bill Winke has done some sorghum/milo plots recently. He says they don't get hit hard in the summer/early fall while growing but when the temps drop the deer start feeding in them. Has anyone else tried or had any luck with sorghum/milo plots?

We had them one year. If the deer actually used them for anything Besides bedding And actually ate them everyone would have them planted.
