Is it too late to plant wheat??

A farmer friend of mine gave me 6,five gallon buckets full of wheat seed. I have a hillside harrowed and was just wondering if it is too late to sew it? Can I just spread it on top and use a drag to cover it? Any help would be very appreciated.

Well, if it is a food plot for deer you are trying to plant, than for this time of the year, wheat is gonna pretty much do nothing for you. Once it starts going to head, deer will walk right past it. I would plant clover or alfalfa if you want to attract and satisfy deer from now untill next fall. Wheat would only benefit you if you were to sew it in September or October.

It is on a hill side where I had some dozing done, I really just want to get something established so it doesn't erode, and if the turkeys could eat on it too that would be great. If I planted it tomorrow, how tall would it be by mid to late April??
