What type of chow are you looking for? I have a brother and sister that live in Bugaha and they could recommend something.

Just a good quality burger will do! The closer the Centurylink Center the better.
    That would be appreciated :)

My brother(who really likes to eat) suggested DJ's Dugout(burgers and wings) or The Old Mattress Factory. My sister suggested Dinkers or Jackson Street Pub.

We left a day early due to the snowstorm and ate at Quaker Steak and Lube. Food was good

Before the event we made it to the Old Mattress Factory. Excellent food and thanks for the referral. If there are Baked Beans on the menu they get ordered

I’m gonna have to do some digging in the freezer now that I’ve come back across this picture!!

    Old Fashion Goulash

I found this recipe for Goulash on the web. It’s been years since I’ve had this dish but this looked incredible. I told the Mrs that we need to try this sometime well tonight I got lucky...... she wanted to cook
This makes a large batch so we’ll be having leftovers for a couple of nights.
This was pretty good in fact real good and a nice hearty meal for a Iowa winter night.

I linked this page in an email to my wife. She had it ready when I came in from plowing snow. I'da taken pics but there wasn't anything left.

I'm sure this has been said before but eating stuff that my wife cooks from game I kill and food we grow makes it that much better. I just can't explain the deep, visceral, satisfaction I get from putting meat in the freezer. Perhaps I'm not as evolved as some but I'm OK with that.

I had leftovers last night. This stuff is like chili it’s almost better the second time after the spices mingle.

Remember to bring your smartphone to the Spring Banquet so I can set you up with Tapatalk then you won’t have any excuse:rolleyes:

    Cured Wild Turkey

Last year I cured wild turkey but now I’ve found a wet cure recipe that is better IMO.
The gentleman that shared this recipe has been in his family’s meat market for 60 years. This is a wet cure brine and will cure everything, pork, beef, foul even Dried Deer which I haven’t tried yet.
Last year I used this recipe for Bacon and Canadian Bacon with awesome results. I go with a 1/2 cup of kosher salt instead of one cup so it’s not to salty. Always make sure the meat is submerged and never dilute the the ingredients. If needed make another gallon same amount of ingredients so meat is covered

Two wild turkey breast’s cured for six days and trussed up ready for the cook. While the cook they were basted with honey.

After the smoke. They were cooked at 300 degrees till they had a IT of 165.

The cure gives the meat a ham like flavor and if cooked at 300 degrees the meat will be very moist and not dried out.

The leftovers were sliced up and vacuumed sealed for sandwiches later.

    Fajitas/ Burritos?? Pellet Style

The grilling and smoking has suffered so far due to the monsoon season and extra hours at work.
Today was so beautiful I had a menu picked out by 8:00 am.
Fajitas/ Burritos they were very good!
The ingredients used but any substitution will work. EVO was poured on the ingredients and fajitas seasoning was applied liberally.

Everything was cut into thin strips and the grill was put on high and the Grillgrates were flipped over so the griddle could be used.
    The sizzle and smell

    Starting to take shape

The Mrs has some cherry tomatoes so they were thrown on to cook and were a good addition

Black Beans on top with a dollop of sour cream, fresh cut cilantro, and juice from a fresh cut lime- time to fold and conquer....

I finished up mowing after work and the Mrs was making ham balls from ham loaf which has been a family favorite for years.
I said they need to be smoked and not put in the new oven.. she said you can’t smoke everything... I said nope they will be cooked at 350 and will have just a slight smoke flavor so we found some disposable pans and transferred them over.
Finished up the yard and she said go ahead and put these party potatoes on the grill also:rolleyes:
