Nice night...

More pics and story...

Our first recordings of this buck began in 2012 when he was a 2 year old and looked like he could get a little beefy over time. He was pretty recognizable and a common sight...although usually at night...over the next couple of years.

2013 Summer

The only shed we ever picked up from him...from his 2013 rack, above, was found in early 2014. I think that antler was about 55".

Summer 2014 - He bumped up nicely last year and might have had more inches on his rack last year than this year, he had a weird point off of his right beam, it looked like a double main beam. I had him up close and personal on an archery hunt right around the 5th or 6th and he still had it then. He cracked that off though sometime after that, and most of his right antler.

Once the testosterone started flowing...you could count on him to beat up other bucks...and his own rack too! That fact was partly why I got an early season muzzy tag this year...I wanted to take out one of the older bucks before they all crack their antlers off on each other!

This year, he definitely had more mass on his frame and was, as usual, a fairly common occurrence on the trail cams, but usually at night. The pics below are some of the very few daylight photos all summer.

We were getting him on cam somewhat often this fall, but as usual, mostly at night. But...he came out early one evening...and that was that! :D

Well that closes the book on Goofball, we'll see if some of his buddies follow his lead this fall and get in the way of an arrow! :D
