Rattling advice please

10/16/01 - Tried a little light clashing (2x, 20 seconds long, 15 minutes apart, 1 hour before dark) with no success. I didn't want to overdo it, or scare anything off. I've bowhunted many years, first year rattling. What are the basic do's and don'ts of rattling. Any sound advice is greatly appreciated. I've also been using the grunt tube sparingly (mature buck vocal, a couple of soft grunts every 45 minutes).

My brother-in-law called me last nite after hunting in west Pottowattamie county. He watched 2 decent bucks going at it pretty hard. It seems pretty early to really be clashing antlers though.
