Yesterday morning, I listened to two bucks sparring. It lasted for about 1 minute and then it was over. They were knocking them together pretty good. That tells me that it may be time to start rattling.
 
I rattle a small one in last night, tickled the horn horns a little grunted twice put the antlers down and he came running in.
 
I have rattled in and killed bucks as early as Oct. 5th. I think the key is not to rattle too hard. Make it sound like sparring, not fighting. They come in more out of curiosity than of wanting to fight themselves.
