Spotty foodplot

I had someone plant a foodplot on September 1 but it sat 2-3 weeks before it got any rain. It’s about 1/3 acre of purple top turnips, radish and rape. Last year the whole plot looked awesome but I’m not sure what happened this year.

The middle came in good but there is barley any growth on both sides of the plot, each side 50’ Long x 10-15’ wide.

Is there anything that I can broadcast on the sides? It’s pretty much weed free because it was sprayed before it was planted.

Well I planted clover on the bare spots on each side of my foodplot. It might be too late but I had the Seed and I did it right before we got rain on Saturday. The foodplot is now really green and 6-8” tall maybe.

I can’t remember how long does it take purple top turnips and radishes to start getting some size to the bottom part?
