It was a good morning to be out. Birds were gobbling like crazy, it wasn’t too long after fly down that I saw a hen being led by 2 toms. They slowly made there way to the decoys and for whatever reason stopped at 34 yards. The hen turned to had back into the woods.
I thought it was now or never so I drew back and let one fly hitting him square in the back. He runs out of the field as I jump out of the blind to chase him down, not catching him for about 75 yards.
When I get my hands on him I notice my arrow went in his back and out the front cutting his beard clean off! Not sure how he could run as far as he did.
