I like to be first in things, but this first, bit me in the ass!

Yesterday I was diagnosed with Colon cancer. Yes that nasty old C word. I have no idea what stage it is, I just know the pictures of it look kinda nasty. Going to be meeting with a cancer specialist Wednesday in Omaha at the University of Nebraska Med Center and go from there.

It hasn't really sunk in as to what I am in for or that it is something that could end my life at the age of 46. This is all pretty new to me and my family as no one else in our immediate family has ever had any type of cancer. I guarantee one thing, I WILL be in a tree soon!

So if any of you could spare yet another prayer for a fellow Iowawhitetailer, please please please send it our way.

I am so sorry to hear that, I can't imaging what that news would feel like if it were broken to me. I hate cancer. I will tell you though that I have two friends that were diagnosed with Colon Cancer and both are cancer free after a surgery and some treatments (no hair loss). I hope that gives you some peace of mind.

Stay stong in faith and pray, I will be praying for you.:way:

Like Bowman have some friends and family that have had it and after treatment and surgery are now free of it I know that doesn't help much but that being said the success rate is very good! Prayer sent for a speedy and successful recovery!

Hang in there. Medicine has came a long way from even 10 years ago. The mind is a very powerful drug, stay positive! You WILL beat this!!!

Stay aggressive and positive as much as possible. As many have stated, colon cancer survivors are around all of us more than we know.

God bless.

Prayers sent! I know two people that had it and got it taken care of and are still doing great 10 years later with no issues.

Everything happens for a reason and you will come out of this better and stronger than ever before! Prayers to you and your family!

Best wishes/prayers to you, my friend age 45 had the same thing, he had surgery and it doing well now, it can be beat!!!
