Trip to Oahe

Headed up to South Dakota last weekend to get one more trip out of the boat before I put it away for the winter. The fishing during the day was pretty slow but as soon as the sun went down the bite was excellent. Ended up bringing home our possession limit of walleye for the weekend and threw a lot back.

Low 40s and windy Thursday and Friday during the day. Saturday weather was great, high 50s and no wind. Not great for the walleye bite but it felt pretty good considering the two days prior.

Actually had a pretty cool experience while fishing up top on Oahe. We were fishing the rock piles on the east side of the lake and spotted a bedded mule deer doe. After watching her for a bit while fishing she bolted and we thought at first glance she had a fawn with her. Turns out it was a coyote trying to put the sneak on her. He had her cornered on a pier and they stared at each other for a good 5 minutes until the coyote must have decided she was too much to handle and left. Other than that no deer, seen a few speed goats.

Lots of wildlife along the river, we see some nice deer out there, should buy a tag I guess!
