OK, I'll play...:)

These are some pics I took a couple of weeks ago now on a successful doe hunt.

I am in an oak tree, the only tree in the field of a Dbltree rye/clover/oats/peas mix. I knew I could snag a doe here, but since the oak tree was also dropping acorns, it was a slam dunk as it turned out. :) Looking to south...

OK, now we are talking...a customer slides out of the draw and starts nibbling on the tender rye/oats. There was a total of 7 baldies, this one was about 60 yards away at this point.

Eventually, all 7 ended up within 15 yards of me and I took out one of the adult does. Fresh venison!

Stand I shot Beamer out of last year and a doe 2 weeks ago. 3 year old just at shooting light and a different 3 year old dogging 1 doe in a group of 4 at 7:30. He was grunting and would not leave her alone. 6 toms at 8am.

Went out this morning. Dead for 2 hours over the brassicas and I'm thinking what the hell? Then I see an absolute brute 100 yards walking the fence line. Pushed off a small buck then trotted after a couple does not caring about my grunts. My heart is broken. The neighbor tagged out yesterday so I'm hoping he'll get more aggressive and stay here over the next few weeks.

Hopefully this guy repeats his mistake again... about 4 years from now. :) Had a fun sit, saw many deer, including several bucks, biggest were 2 and 3 year olds...but probably 6 of them that way. 100" to 135" , but good to see.

Although there was a little doe following going on, for the most part, they all fed together in peace. Probably not going to be that way starting next week though.

Had to shoot my way out of the blind, taking a real nice doe late in the sit.

My view for the day. Alfalfa over the ridge, oaks all around, & nothing but time on my hands. Let’s hope the incoming front gets them moving this afternoon!

FWIW, I think you will be "in the chips", hunting this afternoon. I think the deer will be going to feed early for sure. Good luck!

the damn squirrels are prepping like snowpocalypse is on its way! One little fork came through about 20 min ago. Otherwise surprisingly quiet so far.
