    Interesting...Would you have any idea what the energy costs might be to run such a pump annually? Why do they run the pump? Just curious.

    they need to keep the water level at certain heights year round and the water level fluctuates daily due to material being removed

    Running water is not a requirement of spawning, it's simply a better environment to keep the eggs oxygenated and keep silt off them. Walleyes will spawn in a Mick lake but it's highly unlikely any eggs will survive the dirty conditions. Some GP's are spring fed along with having pumps running to wash gravel as BD stated creating a "current" We own a gravel pit that I stocked with adult fish from a nearby area for the last 4 years and they are reproducing. Large privately owned gravel pits are the ticket to some giant fish if they are dug in a way that provides breaks and structure.

    Man that sounds tasty!! We saw a bunch of big ones on my farm down in IA, is there a season?? Never tried it before.

    The season for bullfrogs are continuous- but you need a fishing license. And I believe you are allowed 12 per license.

    Fishing that spot is awesome! Literally every cast is some sort of keeper fish.. Insane! :)

    my brother came to town last night and wanted to have a fish fry at home in the quad cities- so we went back. walleyes- crappie and stripers were going nuts we kept 7 walleyes and thew the rest back- he went home with a good amount of filets for a fry
