Want to only broadcast seed 5 feet wide.....any ideas how?

I have about mile of a 5 foot trail throughout my timber that I want to plant to a clover/rye mix.

I took dbltree's hinge cutting to heart and put my own twist on it. I marked a main deer trail and hinge cut on both sides of it so that i basically have a secluded trail that now gets some sunlight and want to plant it to something to get the deer to use it more.

i've drug the trail with a harrow and a drag and will roundup it once the weeds get taller.

i want to broadcast white clover and rye but only have 5 feet and don't want to waste a mile's worth of trail on the wasted seed.

any ideas?

I just use a small hand seeder Cory, just crank it slow and easy and you can match the spread to the width of the area to be seeded.
