Wingbone Turkey Call

With the type of hunting I do with either original antique muzzleloaders or contemporary reproductions, I felt I should probably be carrying a wing bone call. While there are members here that make beautiful bone calls, I wanted something a bit different and looking like it could have been made 200 years ago.
This is what I came up with. Instead of the thread wrap that is used on most calls, I went with rawhide that I made from a deer I killed years ago. I then gave the bell just a little bit if traditional scroll type scrimshaw. A piece of brass wire was bent into a loop for a strap attachment and fastened with artificial sinew. Then it was all given an antique finish.
Now if I can just get half way decent at using it.:D

Your wing bone calls would make your Native American brothers proud.

Great work Jay. :)

Beautiful as always!!!

If you don't mind me asking, what did you use to antique it? I need to do the same to some Pipe Bone for a bearclaw necklace!!!
