My sons youth rossi has taken 5 or 6 deer in the 4 years he has had it. It is perfect for young kids and actually shoots pretty good groups. I did want to warn anyone with this gun that after youth season last year I was cleaning the gun and noticed the hammer would barely stay cocked which could have been tragic. My gunsmith said even though I had cleaned it well it was dirty enough to be unsafe. I asked him if I could tear the trigger assembly out and clean it and he told me it was very tricky for him and that I shouldn't try it. I just wanted to let everyone out there know to be very careful of the rossi hammer and trigger assembly. Be Safe
