Youth season success

Took my son out today for his first youth hunt needless to say it was short and sweet! Wasn't in the blind for 10 min before we had two longbeards and a hen pop out of the timber. Gave a few yelps and the hen made a mad dash for the decoys. The two big boys weren't far behind. I think the hen caught my son moving his gun a bit and skirted the decoys, the toms stayed on her tail and the closest they got was 35 yds. We practiced out to that far and he was pretty sure of himself. With the squeeze of the trigger Caleb had his first longbeard flopping. 24# 9" beard and 7/8" spurs! In total a 15 minute hunt but one we both will never forget!
